JOHN LENNON

John Winston Ono Lennon, born in Liverpool England October 9, 1940, was a musician and composer who rose to fame as one of the founding members of TheBeatles, one of the most commercially successful bands in rock music history. Alongwith Paul McCartney, formed one of the most successful songwriting partnerships of the twentieth century.

Born and raised in Liverpool, where a teenager is familiar with the skiffle craze, forming the band The Quarrymen, which later became The Beatles in 1960 Lennon showed a rebellious nature and wit in music, film, literature and drawing, also was controversial because of their activism for the peace, along with his wife Yoko Ono.
In 1971, he moved to New York, where his opposition to the war has brought problems, however his songs became anthems against the war.
His last album was called, Double Fantasy, but was killed three weeks after its release. Over time was described by Rolling Stone magazine as the fifth best singer of all time.
